MRS. KRISTIN!

Hello! I am Kristin Bishop. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am honored and excited that you stopped by to learn a little bit more about ME (the teacher) and Smarty Pants preschool in general!
---
I have a love for children. I love being a mother. Nurturing, teaching and watching a child grow and discover new things is a priceless gift. I have a 3 year old, Jaxson, who will be attending Smarty Pants Preschool this coming Fall. He is a perfect teacher in Patience and in learning what makes a "3 year old tick"! I strive to provide fun-filled days of learning and exploring to make his childhood memorable while steadily helping him reach his full potential!
I love make crafts with tiny little fingers, reading childrens books and find joy in watching little eyes light up with excitement!
---
I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Journalism with an Emphasis in Public Relations and Corporate Communications and a minor in Family and Human Development. I am also a Certified Dental Assistant and CPR certified.
I have held several positions that ultimately led me to my decision of offering a branch of Smarty Pants! The one-on-one and hands on approach that the "Smarty Pants Preschool Curriculum" offers is key. Children at 3 and 4 years of age need love. They need encouragement and time for social interaction and dramatic play.
Perfectly intertwined in those key principles are the basics: shapes, colors, alphabet, math, numbers, counting, name recognition, sorting, patterning, matching, tangrams, etc. All things that will push your child to reach their potential! Kids are capable of so much these days...and I'm convinced they they are learning more and more...younger and younger!

Three years ago I quit my full-time teaching position at Vatterott College in the Mid-West to become a full-time mother. Although both have taught me many unique lessons, TEACHING is a universal art. Students, no matter the age, thrive on a wonderful support system! They search for approval, acceptance and someone who will be patient enough to find NEW ways of teaching those "tricky" things in a way that really clicks!
I have first hand experience with this! I taught advanced courses in Radiology, Microbiology, Anatomy, Dental Assisting Chairside procedures, medical and dental terminology, public speaking and more.
The fundamentals are the SAME.
Love, Support, Encouragement...and providing a safe environment that allows confidence and room to achieve their goals!
I have a wonderful husband who is very supportive! He is a practicing attorney in Northern Utah and loves his job helping families through "rough bumps" in the road of life.
That sums us up!
The Bishop Family:)
